CQ WW CW 2023 – DX Hotel
Here we go again – it is November and for the last 12 Years straigt that means CQ WW CW!
Since 2018 I am operatiting SO LP at Carstens’s DX Hotel in Holzminden – so I did this year.

Preparation as always: software updates – setup and some minor glitches fixed. Easy!
My goal was to reach at least 1000 QSOs and a score that keeps up somewhat with last year…..
Here is a list from my CW journey as I am not a CW operator by all means!
The contest went very smooth – the station at DX Hotel IC-7851 and the big Optibeam @ 30m worked flawless, just the operator (myself) was not in best performance mode. I felt a litle sleepy and needed more rest than usual. Maybe I am getting older? 🙂 At least I managed the 1000 QSOs but I could not outscore my last years points. More mults – less QSOs.
I hope for a TOP 5 in DL – but we will see.
It was fun getting all the DX in the log with just 100w!
Frank DL4DW joined me this year and chased some DX on second best band basis. Great to have some company in the shack and thanks for the ride Frank!
Thanks for all the stations that piced my up and thanks to Carsten that I was allowed to use the wonderful station again!
