Flashback – CQ WW SSB 2006 CT9L
This is a short flashback to my first contact with the RRDXA via Walter DJ6QT (sk) back in 2006.
I just kind of started getting into “real” contesting after operated CQ WPX 2004 as PJ4P, CQ WPX and CQWW 2005 @ PJ2T.
Walter asekd me to join his Team for CQ WW SSB 2006 in Madeira. This was my first ever trip to the Island, but many more (19 total) followed.
It was a great team effort and we had our hands full for a whole week getting three stations up and running for M/M. We did not have any multiplyer concept and running only 3 stations was not a good idea either. Anyhow we had a blast!

Unfortunatley we picked the same category as the local club CT3YA on Madeira. The locals new their game and outperformed us on QSOs and Mults. So we had to settle for World #2. Not so bad for a rookie like me.
It was a great experiance and I am glad I met so many great people!
