Besides a very busy scedule with family, work and other radio projects I was allowed to join DP6T/p as a guest operator for this years IARU Reg. 1 Fieldday.
Thanks to the DP6T Team to have me.

Friday afternoon straigt after work my son Leon and myself visited the team in Wittgenborn that has already started the setup process for the station. You can only start 24h before the contest according to the rules.
The setup process went very smooth as the core team knows every step inside and out.
The three element three band beam antenna looks really tiny 40m up in the air!
(not fully errected yet)
The setup is complemented by some wire antennas for 160m (Dipole) 80m (Dipole and Deltaloop) and 40m (Dipole).
Befor the contest Leon checked ou the operating position inside the radio truck.
On saturday 1300z the contest started and we had a great run on 10m with a ton of 3 point QSOs. I had a two hour shift finishing 10m and also looking for mults and other bands. The night was a bit to quiet, but over all we managed to put more than 1100 QSOs into the log. As always we need to wait the log checking process to see what that might be good for, but it was fun anyway.
